LOGAN, Utah – Utah State grad junior quarterback Logan Bonner was named Monday as one of eight Manning Award "Stars of the Week," after helping lead the Aggies to a 35-10 win at New Mexico last Friday.

Aggie fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for Bonner following his stellar performance against the Lobos. When voting closes on Thursday at 10 a.m., the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.

Joining Bonner on this week's Manning Award Stars of the Week are Georgia's Stetson Bennett, Oregon's Anthony Brown, Ole Miss' Matt Corral, Western Michigan's Kaleb Eleby, Kentucky's Will Lewis, Maryland's Taulia Tagovailoa and Chevan Cordeiro of Hawai'i.

Bonner was also named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday and the College Sports Madness Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday.

In the win over the Lobos, Bonner threw a career-high five touchdown passes (27, 39, 36, 76, 10), which is tied for the most in a single game in school history, as he helped the Aggies clinch the Mountain West Mountain Division title and spot in the MW championship game.

Bonner now has 32 touchdown passes on the season and 62 in his career, and those 32 touchdowns this season are tied with Jordan Love (2018) for the most in a single season in school history. It is the eighth-straight game and 10th time this season that Bonner has had multiple touchdowns. It is also the fifth time this year and seventh time in his career that he has thrown four touchdowns in a game.

In just three quarters of work against New Mexico, Bonner was 16-of-23 passing for 306 yards. He finished the game with a career-high 253.1 efficiency rating.

On the season, Bonner has passed for 3,236 yards, which ranks as the fifth-most in single-season school history. He is just the sixth different Utah State quarterback to pass for 3,000 yards in a season.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Bonner ranks first in the MW in yards per attempt (8.58), second in passing touchdowns (32, 2.67 pg), second in yards per completion (14.2), third in passing (270.2 ypg), third in points responsible for (16.2 pg) and third in passing efficiency (155.0).

The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, was created in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Since the Manning Award started recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 424 different quarterbacks from 129 schools have been recognized. Seventy-three players from 66 different schools were honored during the 2020 season.
