RENO, Nev. — Utah State women's basketball (4-17, 2-14 MW) had four players score in double-figures, but fell on the road to Nevada (11-8, 7-7 MW), 73-60, on Thursday evening inside the Lawlor Event Center.

The Aggies were led by sophomore guard Faith Brantley who scored 15 points. Graduate forward Jessica Chatman came just one rebound shy of her fifth-career double-double, going for 11 points and a team-leading nine boards. Sophomore guard Shyla Latone also hit double-figures with 10 points, along with senior guard Emmie Harris, who logged her fifth-straight game with 10-plus points.

The Aggies got out to a hot start from outside the arc, making their first three shots of the game, all from 3-point range. USU then held even with the Wolf Pack in the second quarter, each team scoring 13 points, but Nevada used 27 points in the third quarter to gain separation. The Aggies had their two highest-scoring quarters in the second half, scoring 19 and 16 points, respectively, but the comeback attempt fell short.

Nevada was led in both scoring by senior guard LaPraisjah Johnson who had 18 points, while sophomore forward Dom Phillips snagged a game-high 10 boards.

As a team, Utah State shot 33.8 percent (22-of-65) from the field, 28.0 percent (7-of-25) from 3-point range and 90.0 percent (9-of-10) at the free throw line. Nevada shot 36.2 percent (25-of-69) from the field, while shooting 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from the 3-point line and 89.5 percent (17-of-19) from the charity stripe.

The Aggies now face a short turnaround as they return home for another series of back-to-back games against New Mexico (10-3, 7-3 MW) to close out the home portion of their schedule on Sunday, Feb. 28, at noon, and Monday, March 1, at 2 p.m. Both games will be streamed on the Mountain West Network, and live stats will be available via Sidearm.
