LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (2-7, 2-7 MW) returns home to host Air Force (5-5, 5-5 MW) for a pair of matches. The Aggies and Falcons will meet on Friday, March 19, at 5 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, March 20.
Both matches will be played in the Wayne Estes Center, with fan attendance limited to a player pass list. Each of this weekend's matches will be available for fans to watch live online via the Mountain West Network. Live stats will also be available through SIDEARM. Links to all options will be posted on the team's social media pages, and are all listed on the Utah State Athletics website.
The Utah State offense is led by junior outside hitter Kristy Frank, who is averaging 3.53 kills per set. Junior middle blocker Corinne Larsen is hitting a team-high .290 (83-27-193). Sophomore setter Kalena Vaivai is averaging 8.73 assists per set. Defensively, freshman libero/defensive specialist Abby Peterson has a team-best 3.55 digs per set, while Larsen leads the team with 1.12 blocks per set. As a team, Utah State is hitting .159 (381-197-1154) on the year, averaging 14.52 digs and 2.09 blocks per set.
Air Force makes the trip to Logan with a 5-5 record. The Falcons had the last week off, but split a pair of home matches against Fresno State the week before. Freshman middle blocker Joi Harvey leads the team hitting .352 (88-26-176) on the year, while sophomore outside hitter BrookeLyn Messenger is averaging a team-high 2.53 kills per set. Defensively, senior defensive specialist/libero Jordan Daniels is averaging 3.95 digs per set, while Harvey leads the group with 1.03 blocks per set. As a team, Air Force is hitting .207 (522-239-1365), averaging 13.32 digs and 1.89 blocks per set.
