LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's tennis (9-4) wrapped up the non-conference portion of its season Sunday, as it defeated Montana State (3-5), 5-2, at home.

Action started with tight doubles play, where Montana State eventually won out. The Bobcats took the point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3, both of which required extra games. Fifth-year Sergiu Bucur and redshirt freshman Souf El Mesbahi defeated Brad Buckland and Joaquin Espinoza, 6-4, in the No. 2 position.

Utah State quickly made up its deficit in singles action. Playing in the No. 2 spot, redshirt freshman Souf El Mesbahi defeated Sitar (6-2, 6-1), while Acosta topped Van Dijk (6-1, 7-5) at No. 3. Freshman Keanu Rigby extended USU's lead with a straight-set victory (6-3, 6-4) over Jacob Huppin in the No. 6 position, while sophomore Roko Savin clinched the win at No. 4, defeating Buckland (7-6, 6-0). The teams played out the rest of the match, where fifth-year Sergiu Bucur battled to a three-set win (4-6, 6-0, 6-3), but Ruiz fell in a super-tiebreak (7-6, 3-6, 9-11).

The Aggies now turn their attention to Mountain West play. USU will host San Diego State on Thursday, April 1, at 11 a.m., then play at UNLV on Saturday, April 3, at 1 p.m. (MT).
