SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Utah State senior captain Colten Cordingley fired a 3-under 141 on Monday and is tied for seventh following the first two rounds of the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate at the picturesque Sandpiper Golf Course.
 
As a team, the Aggies are in fourth place at 2-over 578, trailing Boise State (-11), Weber State (-6) and California Baptist (-4). The Wildcats' Isaac Buerger is the leader in the clubhouse at 7-under 137.
 
After opening the day with a 1-over 73 on the 7,017-yard course, Cordingley carded a 4-under 68 on his second 18, which included four birdies. He capped his day by making eagle on the par-5 first, his finishing hole. His 68 tied for the lowest score in the second round.
 
Along with Cordingley, three other Aggies find themselves inside the top 30. Senior Andy Hess shot a 2-over 146 and is tied for 19th, freshman Javier Vazquez shot a 3-over 147 and is tied for 23rd and fifth-year Chase Lansford shot a 4-over 148 and is tied for 27th.
 
Hess and Vazquez each made an eagle, as well, on Monday, as Utah State is tied with Boise State for the most eagles.
 
Redshirt junior Jesse Henderson is tied for 33rd after a 5-over 149, while junior Cameron Tucker, playing as an individual, is at 10-over 154.
 
The final round of the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate will be played on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. (MT), with all groups starting on the first hole.
