LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's tennis (12-7, 3-3 MW) closed the home portion of its season Sunday in a 4-0 loss to New Mexico.
The Lobos started things off with a win in doubles, defeating the Aggie duos in the Nos. 1 and 2 spots. For USU, redshirt freshman
Jack Ninteman and sophomore
Roko Savin held a 4-3 lead at No. 3 when their match was called.
New Mexico carried its momentum into singles action, where it picked up three straight-set victories to clinch the match. Senior
Felipe Acosta was the only Utah State player to win his first set, and he was leading in his second when the match went unfinished. Sophomore
Javier Ruiz also held a lead in his second set at No. 5 at the time the match was decided.
The Aggies will close the 2021 season at Boise State on Saturday, April 24, at noon.
