Game Recap: Women's Soccer |
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah State struck first, but ultimately had to settle for a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Colorado College on Friday night. The game marked the second-straight overtime contest played against the Tigers and the first double-overtime draw for the Aggies since Oct. 3, 2019.

Utah State (2-4-1, 2-4-1 MW) opened the scoring in the first half when senior midfielder Kami Warner found the back of the net over the head of Colorado College's keeper in the 14th minute to give the Aggies the 1-0 lead. The goal marked her second of the season and sixth goal of her career.

The Tigers (4-1-2, 4-1-2 MW) were able to even the score 1-1 in the 27th minute when Jacqui Hand placed the ball into the upper 90 of the goal off an assist from Camille Weaver.

Neither team was able to break through in the second half as the Tigers finished the final 45 minutes with six shots to the Aggies' three. Warner had the most dangerous attack during the second half, but her shot in the 71st minute was kick-saved by the Colorado College keeper, representing the only shot on goal during the final stanza of regulation.

Utah State had its best chance to score in the second overtime period when USU junior forwards Jordan Foraker and Marli Niederhauser connected on a 1-2 pass in the 106th minute, but the shot by Niederhauser was saved by the Colorado College keeper at full extension.

USU made the most of its eight shots during the night with four on frame, while the Tigers finished the contest with 19 shots and only five on goal. Utah State sophomore keeper Diera Walton recorded four saves during the match, while her counterpart Greta Forseth finished with three.

The Aggies wrap up their two-game road trip on Sunday afternoon, facing Air Force at noon. Fans can follow the match with live stats and live video online at www.utahstateaggies.com.
