BOISE, Idaho – Utah State men's tennis wrapped up the 2021 season Saturday, falling to Boise State, 4-1, on the road.

The Aggies end the season with a 12-8 overall record, including a 3-4 ledger in Mountain West play.

Utah State took the lead early, winning the doubles point. The Broncos picked up the first victory, but the Aggies responded with wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Fifth-year Sergiu Bucur and redshirt freshman Souf El Mesbahi defeated Caden Moortgat and Lawrence Sciglitano, while redshirt freshman Jack Ninteman and sophomore Roko Savin topped Michael Bott and Kyryll Kryvchun, both by 7-5 decisions.

In singles action, Boise State quickly took the lead back with straight-set wins at Nos. 1, 4 and 5. Sophomore Arvid Hjalte pushed his match to three sets at No. 6, but the Broncos earned the win to clinch the match. Mesbahi and senior Felipe Acosta were both in the third sets of their contests when the match was called.
