LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (12-23, 3-12 MW) is set to play its final road games of the season this weekend as it takes on San José State (5-18, 1-14 MW) in a three-game Mountain West series. 

The Aggies and Spartans will play a doubleheader on Saturday, May 1, starting at 1 p.m. (MT). The weekend will then conclude with a single game on Sunday, May 2, at 1 p.m.

This weekend's series will be streamed live and for free via the Mountain West Network. Live stats will also be provided for each of the games against the Spartans. Links to each option are posted on the team schedule on the USU Athletics website, and will be available on the social media pages prior to each game.

San José State welcomes the Aggies with a 5-18 overall record, and a 1-14 conference ledger. The Spartans are coming off a long break, with their last series being played at San Diego State, April 17-18. As a team, SJSU is hitting .189 (101-of-535), led by senior infielder Janessa Lozano, who is hitting .286 (16-of-56). Five pitchers have seen time in the circle for the Spartans, posting a combined ERA of 5.99. Sophomore Jocylyn Vidal leads the group with a 4.42 ERA over six appearances. Tammy Lohman is in her first season as the head coach at San José State. The Spartans lead the all-time series with the Aggies, 46-32.  

For the Aggies, freshman second baseman Zaia Castruita leads the team at the plate, batting .333 (33-of-99). In the circle, junior Kapri Toone leads with a 4.90 ERA in her 26 appearances. As a team, USU is hitting .250 (240-of-960) and has a combined ERA of 5.14.
