LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (12-26, 3-15 MW) is playing its final six games of the 2021 season over the next week, all at home.
USU will host Dixie State (18-27, 6-12 WAC) in a doubleheader on Sunday, May 9, starting at noon. The Aggies then welcome in-state rival BYU (30-15, 8-1 WCC) for a single game on Tuesday, May 11, at 4 p.m. The season will then conclude in a three-game Mountain West series against New Mexico (6-34, 4-13). The Aggies and Lobos will play two games on Friday, May 14, starting at noon, then end the year in a single game on Saturday, May 15, at noon.

Stephanie Reed are all playing their final games in an Aggie uniform. Official Senior Day recognitions will take place at the conclusion of Sunday's doubleheader against Dixie State. All five seniors are graduating with bachelor's degrees this week.
Dixie State makes the trip to Logan with an overall record of 18-27, but is on a seven-game losing streak. As a team, the Trailblazers are hitting .298 (362-of-1,214), led by sophomore outfielder/first baseman Hannah Hughbanks, who is hitting .408 (58-of-142). Four pitchers have shared time in the circle for Dixie State, posting a combined ERA of 5.12. Junior Carissa Burgess leads the group with a 4.05 ERA and a 12-12 record. Randy Simkins is in his 13th season as the head coach of the Trailblazer program, where he has an overall record of 457-164. The Aggies and Trailblazers have only met three times, two of which occurred this season, with Dixie State holding a 2-1 lead in the series.
BYU currently boasts a 30-15 overall record, but will play a three-game series at Santa Clara and a doubleheader against Dixie State before Tuesday's game. The Cougars are hitting .282 (320-of-1,136) on the season, with freshman outfielder Violet Zavodnik leading the team with a .400 (48-of-120) batting average. BYU uses a four-pitcher rotation, who have a combined ERA of 3.07. Senior Autumn Moffat-Korth has made a team-high 29 appearances, where she has a 2.19 ERA. Gordon Eakin is his 19th season as the head coach at BYU, where he has an all-time record of 715-346. The Cougars lead the all-time series against the Aggies, 46-33, including two wins already this season.
New Mexico enters the week with a 6-34 overall record, including a 4-13 ledger in Mountain West play. The Lobos will play a home series against San José State this weekend. New Mexico is hitting .206 (193-of-939) on the year, where senior shortstop Cameryn O'Grady is hitting a team-high .308 (33-of-107). Five Lobo pitchers have seen time in the circle, combining to post a 6.86 ERA. Junior Emma Guindon has made 27 appearances with a 5.11 ERA. Paula Congleton is in her fourth season at the helm of the UNM program, with a 43-129 overall record. The all-time series between USU and New Mexico is tied at 26-26, but the Aggies have taken the last three series victories.

Jessica Stewart leads with a 4.71 ERA in her 19 appearances. As a team, USU is hitting .250 (256-of-1,047) and has a combined ERA of 5.01.
