LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head soccer coach Manny Martins has announced the addition of Alex Day, a transfer from the University of Arizona who will enter as a sophomore.
Day, a 5-foot-11 midfielder, appeared in seven of Arizona's matches a season ago, playing in a total of 80 minutes on the pitch. She played in a season-high 24 minutes in the contest against Oregon, where Martins was an assistant before taking the helm at Utah State. Day recorded her only shot of the season against Northern Arizona.
At the club level, Day played for Legends FC DA and also lettered in soccer at Chino Hills High School, in her hometown of Chino Hills, Calif.
"We are thrilled about adding Alex to our program. She is a very technical and versatile player with a high soccer IQ, who can help us in buildup, as well as in final phases of play," Martins said. "It is great to add a quality player to our midfield, who brings with her a year of college playing experience."
