BOZEMAN, Mont. – Utah State volleyball (4-2) wrapped up competition at the Bobcat Classic Saturday, defeating host-Montana State in five sets.

Montana State took the first win of the day, 25-19, but the Aggies flipped the score to win the second set. The third set went down to the wire as the teams traded points and runs, but USU recorded the 25-22 victory. The Aggies led for the majority of the fourth set, but a late Montana State run evened the match with a 25-21 win. Utah State never trailed in the fifth set, securing the win by a score of 15-9.
The Aggie attack was successful again Saturday, hitting .255 (61-23-149) and giving them a hitting percentage above .210 for the sixth match in a row. Stall led the team with 13 kills, but was joined in double figures by junior middle blocker
Kennedi Boyd and redshirt sophomore outside
Hailey Cuff with 12 and 10 kills, respectively, while Boyd hit a team-high .526 (12-2-19). Rodrigues led the Aggies with 26 assists, while sophomore libero
Abby Peterson had a team-high 11 digs.
Montana State ended the match hitting .204 (56-27-142).
Utah State returns to preseason tournament action next week in the Bay Area Invitational. The Aggies will play CSU Bakersfield at Saint Mary's on Friday, Sept. 10 at noon (MT), followed by a match at San Francisco at 8 p.m. The team will return to Moraga on Saturday, Sept. 11 to take on the Gaels at 2 p.m.
