LOGAN, Utah - Utah State hosts Wyoming in its 2021-22 conference home opener on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m.

Opening Tips
• Utah State trails Wyoming 33-50 all-time in the series, dating back to the 1929-30 season. The Aggies have won six straight against the Cowboys, including each of the last three games in Logan. Overall, USU is 22-17 against the Pokes in Logan.

• Utah State is 6-3 all-time in Mountain West home openers and has won three of its last four.

• Wyoming has not played a game since Dec. 25 due to health and safety protocols. The Aggies have not played a home game since Dec. 21, a span of more than three weeks.

• The game against the Cowboys marks the latest league home opener for the Aggies since the 1996-97 season, when USU hosted North Texas to open Big West play on Jan. 16.

• Utah State is the only team in the MW with six different players that have scored 20 or more points in a single game. The Aggies are one of only 10 teams in the nation with that distinction.

• USU has had six different players lead the team in scoring in a game this season.

• Over the first three games of the MW season, Utah State has more than a 2-to-1 advantage in steals, logging 23 to the opposition's 10.

• Utah State's 3-point shooting has cooled since league competition began. The Aggies shot 39.1 percent (128-of-327) from behind the 3-point line during non-conference play and averaged 9.8 triples per contest. Over the first three conference games, USU is shooting 17.0 percent (9-of-53) and averaging 3.0 3-point buckets per game.

• Senior forward Justin Bean is the only player in the MW averaging a double-double this season (19.6/10.2) and is among the top five in the MW in points (2nd), rebounds (2nd), steals (3rd) and minutes played (5th).

Bean is fourth in the nation in double-doubles (10), seventh in total field goals made (121) and total rebounds (163), 10th in field goal percentage (.630), 11th in defensive rebounds per game (7.31), 12th in total points (314), and 13th in rebounds per game (10.2).

Bean's commitment in the offseason to his 3-point shooting is evident as he entered the year having hit 19 shots from behind the arc in his career. He is already nearing that total with 18 triples this season alone.

• Junior guard Rylan Jones' average of 5.6 assists per game is the most by an Aggie since Kris Clark averaged 6.4 dimes per game during the 2007-08 season.

• Scoring by Jones and senior guard RJ Eytle-Rock has been key for the Aggies this season as USU is undefeated in games when either scores in double figures.

• Since being inserted into the starting lineup in each of the last two games, junior guard Sean Bairstow has scored in double figures in each contest, including a career-high 20 points at Colorado State on Wednesday night.

• Over the last two games, Bairstow is averaging 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from the floor.
