LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball senior opposite side hitter Kylee Stokes and sophomore setter Beatriz Rodrigues have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The duo are the first Aggie volleyball players to garner the honors since Liz McArthur in 2011 and are just the eighth and ninth Aggies to glean academic all-district honors in program history.
Stokes holds a 3.73 GPA and is set to graduate with a degree in integrated studies. In her first season in Logan a year ago, Stokes earned academic all-Mountain West, Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and Joe E. and Elma Whiteside Scholar-Athlete honors. For her performance on the court, Stokes was named to the MW all-tournament team in 2021.
This season, Stokes is third on the team with 226 kills, averaging 2.09 per set. The native of Phoenix, Arizona, is second on the squad with 63 blocks, including 58 block assists. She has logged nine double-digit kill matches this season and has at least five blocks in three contests.
Rodrigues holds a 3.78 GPA and is set to graduate with a degree in integrated studies. During her freshman campaign a year ago, she earned academic all-Mountain West, Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and Joe E. and Elma Whiteside Scholar-Athlete honors.
This season, Rodrigues is one of the top servers in the MW as she has served a team-best 37 aces. She is second on the team with 569 assists, averaging 5.08 per set, and fifth in digs with 175. Rodrigues has recorded double-digit assists in all but one match this season and has posted five double-doubles on the year.
Utah State, the No. 4 seed in the 2022 Mountain West Volleyball Championships, takes on No. 5 New Mexico on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m., in Fort Collins, Colorado.
