LOS ANGELES, California - Utah State women's basketball lost to Southern California, 79-48, on Saturday at the Galen Center.
The Trojans led wire-to-wire, opening the game on an 8-2 run to take control. USC led, 26-12, at the end of the first quarter and carried a 43-24 advantage into halftime. In the second half, the Aggies trimmed USC's lead to 16 points on multiple occasions at the start of the third quarter but were unable to come any closer as the Trojans pulled away in third and fourth frames.
Junior guard
Tamiah Robinson led the Aggies with a season-high 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including a 2-of-4 mark from 3-point range. Robinson also led USU with four assists. Junior guard
Olivia Wikstrom was Utah State's lone other scorer in double figures with 12 points in addition to a team-leading three steals. Graduate forward
Olivia Mason led the Aggies' efforts on the boards with six rebounds for the game.
Utah State grabbed 16 offensive rebounds in the contest, the fifth time this season the team has recorded double-digit offensive rebounds. USC won the overall rebounding margin, 37-29, only the second time this season USU has lost the rebounding battle.
