TEMPE, Arizona — Utah State men's tennis rebounded on the final day of the ASU Invite to defeat New Mexico, 4-1, on Sunday at the Kiwanis Tennis Center. The match will not factor into conference records for either team.

The Lobos took the early momentum in doubles play with victories at the first and second positions to claim the doubles point. At the third spot, graduate senior Felipe Acosta and freshman Sergi Mico Fenollar had their match suspended while facing a 5-3 deficit.

Entering singles play, however, the momentum switched fully to USU as the Aggies clinched the victory with four straight wins in singles play. Mico Fenollar notched a straight-set victory at the fourth position over New Mexico's Alex Maggs, 6-4, 6-4. Junior Roko Savin then put Utah State in the lead with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Daniil Dakhniuk.

On court three, Acosta put the Aggies on the brink of victory with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Aram Noroozian before senior Maksymilian Raupuk provided the clinching point, coming back in the third set to defeat Jan Pucalka, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4. Juniors David Cierny and Bodin Zarkovic had their matches on the first two courts suspended following the clinching point.

Utah State leaves the ASU Invite having gone 2-1 in the tournament. The Aggies started off the weekend with a 4-0 defeat versus No. 71-ranked UC Santa Barbara before falling to No. 65-ranked Rice in  closely-contested 4-3 defeat. With Sunday's victory over the Lobos, USU finishes in seventh place among the loaded tournament field.

The Aggies now have a week to prepare for their next match at Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, March 8, at 11 a.m. (MT). USU will also play at UC Riverside the very next day on Wednesday, March 9, at 10 a.m. (MT).
