LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's gymnastics team is ranked No. 16 in the country in Week 8 of the Road to Nationals rankings, which were released Monday.
This is the second week that rankings are determined by National Qualifying Score (NQS), which is calculated with the six-highest scores of the season, at least three of which must be from away meets. The highest of the six scores is dropped, and the remaining five scores are averaged.

196.800 – Away (Feb. 11, at Southern Utah)
196.725 – Home (Feb. 27, vs. Towson)

Utah State's overall NQS of 196.435 is the highest in school history, bettering last week's score of 196.180. In the Aggies' last outing, they notched their highest home score in school history with a 196.725, defeating then-No. 23 Towson on Sunday afternoon at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Utah State's 196.725, which is also the fifth-best overall score in program history, bested the previous home record of 196.675, set against North Carolina State on March 14, 2003. The Aggies closed with a 49.450 on floor, which ranks sixth all-time in school history.
All four teams from the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference are ranked in the top 25 this week as BYU is No. 14 (196.615), Southern Utah is No. 21 (196.15) and Boise State is No. 23 (196.105).
