LOGAN, Utah – Utah State indoor track & field earned a pair of awards from the Mountain West this week, as
Marshall Rasmussen has been named the MW Men's Freshman Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and junior
Josh Wintch was named the MW Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
It is Rasmussen's second time being honored by the conference. The freshman from Meridian, Idaho, won both the pole vault and triple jump events at the Aggie Speed and Power Meet on Saturday. Rasmussen cleared a height of 4.65 meters (15-3.00) in the vault and posted a mark of 13.02 meters (42-8.75) in the triple jump.
For Wintch, it is his first time being honored by the conference. The junior from Stansbury Park, Utah, took home first place in the 800 meters at the Aggie Speed and Power Meet. Wintch's time of 1:54.19 set a new personal record for the event and is the sixth-fastest time posted by an athlete in the MW this season.
