RIVERSIDE, California — Utah State men's tennis won on the road at UC Riverside, 5-2, on Wednesday at the SRC Tennis Courts. The win moves USU back to .500 on the season at 6-6.

The Aggies firmly took control in doubles play with 6-2 wins on courts one and three. Junior Javier Ruiz and sophomore Jack Ninteman posted the victory at the first position while senior Felipe Acosta and junior Bodin Zarkovic took the win at the No. 3 spot to give USU the 1-0 advantage entering singles play.

Playing at the first position for the first time this season, Zarkovic continued his strong season with a 6-2, 6-2 win over UCR's Antreas Djakouris, moving Zarkovic to 8-2 in singles matches this season. A pair of straight-set victories in the bottom half of the order then sealed the win for USU. Freshman Sergi Micó Fenollar recorded a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Justin Lamy while sophomore Jack Ninteman, playing in his first singles match of the dual season, defeated Aarav Sane, 7-6 (3), 6-4, to clinch the match.

Junior Roko Savin secured USU's final point in a third-set super tiebreak, defeating UCR's Joshua Roth, 3-6, 7-6 (1), 1-0 (10-5). Freshman Gabriel Chavez made his debut of the dual season but was unable to come away with the victory versus the Highlanders' Andreas Whelan-Merediz.

Utah State concludes a three-game California road trip on Saturday at noon against No. 67-ranked Cal Poly.
