LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's tennis player
Bodin Zarkovic has been named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week. It was announced by the league Wednesday.
Zarkovic went 2-0 across singles and doubles play during Utah State's 4-3 win over Boise State on Saturday. Playing alongside junior
David Cierny in doubles, Zarkovic registered a 6-3 win over Boise's Simon Arca Costas and Caden Moortgat at the No. 1 position. Also playing at the top position of singles, the junior from Belgrade, Serbia, defeated BSU's Pedro Liborio in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.
It is Zarkovic's first time receiving the honor from the Mountain West. It is also the first time an Aggie has been named the MW Player of the Week since former Aggie Duro Opacic won the award in February of 2019.
Utah State men's tennis (9-10, 3-1 MW) concludes its regular season this weekend with a pair of Mountain West matches as it plays at Air Force (12-8, 2-3 MW) on Thursday, April 21, at 2 p.m., and at New Mexico (9-11, 2-2 MW) on Saturday, April 23, at noon.
