LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Utah State softball (25-20, 10-5 Mountain West) lost 2-1 in Game 3 of its series at UNLV (32-11, 10-5 MW) on Sunday.
Four Aggies recorded a hit during the game as junior center fielder
Mazie Macfarlane and junior first baseman
Makenzie Macfarlane each singled, senior right fielder
Bri Lerma doubled and senior catcher
Gabriella Jimenez had a solo home run.
The Rebels scored one run in both the bottom of the second and fourth innings to take a 2-0 lead.
Jimenez scored USU's lone run of the day with a solo homer to center field in the top of the sixth. UNLV held on for the 2-1 win.
Senior
Kapri Toone made the start in the circle for the Aggies, recording three walks in her 3.1 innings of work. She was relieved by freshman
Mia Reynolds, who had four strikeouts in her 2.2 innings in the circle.
Utah State next travels to Orem, Utah, to take on Utah Valley (18-19, 9-9 WAC) on Wednesday, April 27, at 2 p.m., before returning to Logan to host Boise State (31-10, 10-5 MW) on Friday, April 29, at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at noon, and Sunday, May 1, at noon.
