Box Score FRESNO, Calif. – Utah State softball's (21-16, 7-1 Mountain West) winning streak came to an end on Saturday as the Aggies lost 10-2 at Fresno State (10-28, 3-8 MW).
The Bulldogs took a 7-0 lead after scoring four runs in the bottom of the third, one in the bottom of the fourth and two in the bottom of the fifth.
Sophomore designated player
Libbie Hawker and freshman left fielder
Claire Raley reached on back-to-back Fresno State errors to lead off the top of the sixth. The duo advanced a base on a USU ground out and later scored on another Bulldog error to trim the lead to 7-2.
Fresno State loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth and scored two runs before a walk-off sacrifice fly sealed the 10-2 Bulldog win.
Freshman
Mia Reynolds made the start in the circle for the Aggies, striking out two batters and walking three in her 4.2 innings of work. Junior
Alyssa Millemon entered the game in the bottom of the fifth, earning the final out of the inning with a strike out. Toone relieved Millemon in the bottom of the sixth, recording one strikeout.
Utah State will look to get back in the win column in the series finale at Fresno State on Sunday, April 10, at noon (MT).
