SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Utah State softball (25-25, 10-9 Mountain West) lost 4-0 to No. 22 San Diego State (34-12, 17-2 MW) on Friday night.
USU struggled offensively in Game 1 of the series against SDSU as Utah State did not record a hit. Two Aggies were able to get on base in the top of the fourth on an Aztec error and a fielder's choice, but that would be it for USU.
All four San Diego State runs came in the bottom of the fourth as the Aztecs held on for the 4-0 win.
Freshman Mia Reynolds made the start in the circle for the Aggies, recording two strikeouts and three walks in her 5.1 innings of work. Junior Alyssa Millemon relieved Reynolds in the bottom of the sixth to record the three outs of the frame.
USU and SDSU will play Game 2 of the series on Saturday, May 7, at 5 p.m. (MT)
