LOGAN, Utah - Utah State forward Justin Bean has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Clippers following the 2022 NBA Draft. Bean will join the Clippers for the NBA Summer League, looking to turn the opportunity into a two-way contract.

Per Drew Maresca of basketballnews.com, an Exhibit 10 deal is "essentially a one-year, non-guaranteed minimum contract with built-in clauses enabling teams to convert them to two-way contracts so long as the conversion takes place prior to the beginning of the regular season. Otherwise, players on Exhibit 10 deals become non-guaranteed minimum deals. Exhibit 10 deals also feature bonuses of between $5,000 and $50,000 that kick in if the player is waived and they report to the team's G League affiliate for at least 60 days."

The road to the NBA will be a similar path to the one that Bean took at Utah State, coming to Logan as a walk on before finishing his career as one of the top players in both USU and Mountain West history. Bean was a three-time all-MW selection, earned a pair of all-MW defensive team honors and helped the Aggies to back-to-back Mountain West Tournament titles, three NCAA Tournament selections and an appearance in the NIT. Bean's name is also among the top 20 in school history in 13 career and single-season records

Bean completed the 2021-22 season as the Aggies' leading scorer (17.4 ppg) and rebounder (9.9 rpg), while also pacing Utah State with 1.6 steals per game. Bean's 592 points on the season ranks among the top-20 in a single season in USU history and his 338 total rebounds rank ninth in a single season. Bean is one of only three players in USU history and one of only two players in Mountain West history to record more than 1,000 career rebounds as his game-high 16 rebounds in the season finale against Oregon increased his career total to 1,027, the second-most ever by an Aggie.

In addition to his prowess on the court, Bean was named a third-team academic All-American a season ago, becoming just one of 15 student-athletes in the nation to receive academic All-American honors in 2021-22.
