LOGAN, Utah – Despite having to move its first scrimmage of fall camp indoors due to inclement weather, second-year head coach
Blake Anderson was pleased with what he saw from the reigning Mountain West and Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Champions, as Utah State practiced for the eighth time Saturday.
"Being inside was not what we wanted, but I thought we got a good practice in," said Anderson. "The energy was really good. I didn't think the execution was great, but as expected, we have a lot of new guys that are trying to find their way and I think this can be really good film for us to teach off of and make some improvements over the next week."
With the scrimmage held indoors, Utah State mainly worked between the 30-yard lines and did not run any red zone plays.
Overall, Utah State's offense gained 688 yards (535 passing, 153 rushing), while the Aggie defense forced three turnovers with two interceptions and one fumble, while adding 13.0 sacks and 24.0 tackles for loss.

"The defense stood out today," added Anderson. "They had a rough day a couple days ago and we challenged them and they came back with the right attitude. I thought, collectively, they got better as the day went on."
