SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State volleyball's five-match winning streak came to an end on Friday night as the Aggies lost 3-0 to Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
USU (7-3) took an early 6-4 lead in set one after a Utah (7-4) error and kills from senior outside hitter

Kennedi Boyd. The Aggies maintained the lead until a 5-1 Ute run tied it at 14-apiece. Utah State responded with a 3-0 spurt of its own for the 17-14 edge. However, Utah outscored Utah State in the final stretch 11-3 for the 25-20 set one victory.

Leah Wilton-LaBoy tied set two at 5-5, but the Utes closed out the set with a 20-5 run for the 25-10 win.
Utah jumped out to a 9-2 lead in set three. A Capllonch kill capped a 4-1 Aggie run to trim the edge to 13-8. The teams went back and forth until the Utes scored three-straight points for the 23-13 lead. A block assist from Boyd and senior opposite side hitter
Kylee Stokes started a 5-1 USU spurt, but a Utah kill would give the Utes the 25-18 set victory to end the match.
Boyd hit a team-best .529 with 10 kills in the match. Both Aggie setters recorded double-figure assists as sophomore
Beatriz Rodrigues had 11 and Wilton-LaBoy had 10. Capllonch led USU defensively with 10 digs.
USU wraps up its non-conference schedule at Weber State (6-4) on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m.
