LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball's
Adna Mehmedovic and
Kambree Rodriguez were named the Mountain West Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office on Monday.
It is the first conference weekly accolade of the season for Mehmedovic, while it is the third Freshman of the Week honor for Rodriguez.
Mehmedovic helped lead the Aggies to a 2-0 mark on the road last week with a 3-2 victory at Colorado State and 3-1 win at Wyoming. She logged 14 kills in both matches, hitting .444 (28-4-54) for the week. Against CSU, the native of Peoria, Arizona, had 14 kills, hitting .500, while recording five blocks, two digs and an assist. Against Wyoming, she had 14 kills, hitting .400, while adding five digs and four blocks. For the week, the junior opposite side hitter had 28 kills, averaging 3.11 per set, nine blocks, seven digs and an assist.
Rodriguez logged 19 digs, nine assists and two service aces during the week. Against Colorado State, the freshman libero logged 11 digs, six assists and one service ace. Against Wyoming, the native of Syracuse, Utah, recorded eight digs, three assists and one service ace.
Utah State (18-5, 11-1 MW) next hosts Air Force (14-9, 6-6 MW) on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m., inside the Wayne Estes Center.
