LOGAN, Utah – Utah State sophomore safety Ike Larsen was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

In the Aggies' 44-24 Homecoming victory over Colorado State this past Saturday on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium, Larsen helped Utah State rally from a 17-0 deficit – the second straight week the Aggies have come back from 17 down to win – which is tied for the fourth-largest comeback in school history.

Larsen, who was tabbed the MW Special Teams Player of the Week following the Aggies' 34-33 road win at UConn on Sept. 30, tied his career high with two interceptions against the Rams.

Both of Larsen's interceptions came in the second quarter, including one in the end zone after Colorado State moved the ball into Utah State territory.

Larsen's second interception led to the game-tying touchdown (17-all) with 3:50 left in the second quarter. The two picks were part of a season-high-tying five turnovers for the Aggies.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Smithfield, Utah, also had seven tackles and one pass breakup on the night.

Larsen and the Aggies (3-3, 1-1 MW) return to action on Friday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m., when they host Fresno State (5-1, 1-1 MW) at Maverik Stadium. The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network. Tickets can be purchased here.
