Women's Soccer 11/2/2023 3:46:00 PM
*Utah State soccer (13-7-1, 9-2 MW)) will face 4-seed Colorado State (13-5-3, 6-3-2 MW) in the Mountain West Championship final on Saturday, Nov. 4, at noon (MT). The match will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
*This is Utah State's first time appearing in the championship match since joining the Mountain West. USU has a combined record of 4-4-2 in the five MW tournaments it has played in.
*Prior to joining the Mountain West, Utah State played in two conference championship matches (2011, 2012 WAC), winning each of them.
*When Utah State and Colorado State faced off in the regular season, it was USU coming out on top with a 1-0 victory in Logan on Sept. 28. The Aggies won the match on a 90th-minute game-winner by senior defender Kylie Olsen
*Utah State is currently on a six-match winning streak, tied for the fourth-longest in program history. During that streak, it has out-scored opponents 11-1 with five shutouts.
*The Aggies have won 10 of their past 11 matches, and have out-scored opponents by a combined score of 19-5 during that stretch.
*This is just the fifth Utah State team to ever reach 13 wins in a season. The only team to surpass that mark was the 2013 squad, which finished 15-5-2.
*With a win on Saturday, Utah State could clinch a berth to its third NCAA Tournament in program history. The previous two tournament bids came in 2011 and 2012.
*Utah State has held opponents to a league-best 0.76 goals per game. The Aggies have limited 18 of their 21 opponents to a goal or less, including 15 of the previous 16 entering the postseason.
*The team's 0.76 GAA is on pace for third-best in program history.
*A league-best 13 different players have scored for USU this season, while 12 players have recorded at least one assist.
*Utah State graduate keeper Diera Walton currently ranks fourth among active DI keepers in career minutes played with 7,524. She also ranks fifth in the NCAA this season in minutes played with 1,843.
*The Aggies are a near-perfect 13-1 this season when scoring at least one goal, and they've scored first in each of their 13 wins. Under coach Manny Martins, when scoring at least one goal, USU is 34-9-5.
