Box Score LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's basketball fell to Idaho Wednesday morning inside of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, coming up short in a 70-43 decision.
For the sixth-consecutive game, it was junior guard
Cheyenne Stubbs who led Utah State's scoring efforts as she went for 13 points, her sixth double-figure scoring outing of the season.
The Vandals jumped out to a strong start behind efficient early shooting, as the visitors knocked down seven of 12 (58.3 percent) of their first-quarter shots. While the Aggie defense tightened up as the game went along, Idaho continued to knock down 3-pointers to maintain a lead throughout the contest.
Utah State pushed back as it held Idaho to just 26.7 percent (4-of-15) shooting and out-scored the Vandals 13-10 in the final quarter, but the late rally fell short.
Along with Stubbs' strong performance, junior guard
Skye Miller filled the stat sheet with four points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block. It was senior forward
Samiana Suguturaga who led the squad on the glass with five boards.
Utah State finished the contest shooting 33.3 percent (17-of-51) from the floor, 0.0 percent (0-of-8) from 3-point range and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) at the charity stripe. Idaho shot 44.8 percent (26-of-58) from the field, including 38.7 percent (12-of-31) from deep and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line.
Idaho was paced by Amalie Langer, who finished the day with 16 points.
