LOGAN, Utah — Utah State men's and women's cross country is set for the 2023 NCAA Mountain Regional on Friday, Nov. 10 at Chaparral Ridge Cross Country Course on the campus of Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech is serving as host. 

The women's 6k will begin at 9 a.m. MT followed by the men's 10k at 10 a.m.

The women will face off against 19 other squads including No. 1 Northern Arizona, No. 3 BYU, No. 13 Colorado, No. 20 Utah, No. 22 Utah Valley and No. 27 Colorado State.

The men will take on 18 other teams including No. 1 Northern Arizona, No. 3 BYU, No. 19 New Mexico, No. 23 Colorado, No. 24 Air Force and Montana State, who is receiving votes.

Mountain West foes Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico, Nevada and Wyoming will compete in both races.

On the men's side, grad seniors Bridger Altice, Spencer Nelson and Camren Todd, seniors Yonas Mogos and Max Wehrli, junior Brennan Benson, and sophomore Logan Garnica will race.

For the women, grad seniors Bailey Brinkerhoff-Todd, Abby Jensen, junior Emma Thornley, sophomore Sarah Ellis, freshmen Shelby Jensen and Brie Smith, and Hannah Davidson are set to compete.

Last season, the Mountain Regional was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Aggie men and women placed in the top-10 in seventh and eight respectively. 

Last time out, junior Emma Thornley placed fourth with a time of 20:23.3 for the Aggie women in the Mountain West Cross Country Championships on Oct. 27. Thornley garnered first-team all-MW honors by placing fourth – the best finish by an Aggie on the women's side since Utah State joined the Mountain West in 2013. Both USU teams finished in fifth place.
