LOGAN, Utah – Utah State redshirt freshman guard
Mason Falslev has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Dec. 10. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
With its sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
The native of Benson, Utah, helped Utah State to a 2-0 record last week with a 108-81 victory against San Diego and 84-53 win over Northwest Nazarene.
Against the Toreros, Falslev had 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal, while shooting 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field.
Against the Nighthawks, he had 14 points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds, while shooting 63.6 percent (14-of-21) from the floor.
For the week, Falslev averaged 15.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 66.7 percent (14-of-21) from the field, 25.0 percent (1-of-4) from deep and 66.7 percent (2-of-3) at the free throw line.
Utah State next faces Santa Clara on the road on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. (MT).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL – Junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs (Bradenton, Florida) led Utah State in scoring in both contests last week as it lost at BYU (72-66) and at Utah Valley (68-38). Against BYU, Stubbs scored 21 points and had three rebounds, two assists and two steals. She followed that performance with a 12-point showing with three boards and two stelas at Utah Valley. On the week, Stubbs averaged 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 assists, while shooting 37.5 percent (9-of-24) from the floor, including 38.5 percent (5-of-12) from 3-point range, and 83.3 percent (10-of-12) at the free throw line.
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD – Junior Godwin Charles (Lagos, Nigeria) won the triple jump last weekend at the BYU Invitational with a school-record mark of 15.69 meters (51.5-75) in his first meet as an Aggie.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD – Senior Sidnee Naerebout (Twin Falls, Idaho) placed second in the triple jump at the BYU Invitational last weekend with a career-best mark of 11.64 meters (38-2.25). That mark ranks ninth all-time in school history.
