LOGAN, Utah — Utah State men's tennis senior day was spoiled by No. 73 New Mexico in a comeback win on Sunday.
Utah State started the afternoon with an early lead by taking the doubles point via wins on courts two and three.
Seniors Javier Ruiz and Jack Ninteman recorded their final doubles match at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club in a fashionable 6-3 win at the third position seconds before junior Stijn Paardekooper and freshman Nuno Pinheiro took their own 6-3 win on court two.
Senior Bodin Zarkovic was the lone Aggie to earn a point during singles play. He posted a 6-2, 7-5 win at the second spot over his Lobo opponent.
On court four, Paardekooper's match was suspended while tied 2-2 in the third set as the Lobos earned their fourth and final point of the match.
Utah State will continue Mountain West play next week as it travels to No. 61 Boise State on Saturday, April 22, at 2 p.m., at the Appleton Tennis Center.
