LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Utah State men's tennis defeated No. 5-seeded UNLV, 4-3, on Wednesday to move on to the Mountain West Championship Semifinals. The Aggies will face No. 1-seeded New Mexico tomorrow. 

Junior Stijn Paardekooper and freshman Nuno Pinheiro posted a 6-3 win on court two during doubles play which was followed by losses on courts one and three, allotting the Rebels the early 1-0 lead. 
 
After the Rebels acquired a 3-0 lead from the doubles point and wins on courts one and six, the Aggies kicked into high gear to secure the remaining four points. 

At the fourth position, sophomore Sergi Micó Fenollar posted a 6-0 first set and then won a tiebreak second set to earn the first point of the day for the Aggies. 

Senior Bodin Zarkovic posted another straight-set win on court two, also winning in a second-set tiebreak. 

At the No. 5 spot, senior Roko Savin suffered a first set tiebreak loss which was followed by a 6-3, 6-4 second and third set, earning the third point for the Aggies and putting teammate Paardekooper in clinch position.  

As the final match left playing on the day, Paardekooper fought back from a loss in the first to win a secon- set tiebreak and then take the third set in a 7-5 win, granting Utah State the final point of the day and a pass to the semifinals. 

Utah State will face the Lobos tomorrow at 6 p.m. (MT). The No. 1-seeded New Mexico had a first-round bye. The Aggies have gone 0-2 versus New Mexico this season.
