LOGAN, Utah — Utah State's men's tennis team secured their first conference victory at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club on Thursday, triumphing over Air Force with a score of 4-1. 

Utah State's doubles team had an impressive start by winning on courts two and three to secure the doubles point. Freshman Nuno Pinheiro and junior Stijn Paardekooper clinched a 6-3 victory at the second position, while seniors Javier Ruiz and Jack Ninteman secured a 7-5 win at the third position. Seniors David Cierny and Bodin Zarkovic's match was left unfinished at 5-6. 

In the singles play, the Aggies demonstrated their dominance by securing victories at the first, second, and fourth positions, effectively clinching the match. 

Cierny set the tone for the Aggies in the singles matches with an impressive 6-3, 6-4 victory over Air Force's Arjun Kersten on court one, earning Utah State their first singles point of the match. 

At court four, Roko Savin's performance was a thriller with the senior posting a 7-6 (5), 7-5 win. With this victory, Savin put teammate Bodin Zarkovic in a prime position to clinch the match for the Aggies. 

In another thrilling three-set match at the third position, Zarkovic won, 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-4, sealing the victory for Utah State. With the victory, Utah State remains unbeaten at home. 

The Utah State men's tennis team will continue their home stand by hosting San Diego State on Saturday, April 8, at 12 p.m. (MT) at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
