Scrimmage Stats
LOGAN, Utah – Week three of spring ball is officially in the books following Utah State's first scrimmage Saturday afternoon on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium.
Third-year head coach
Blake Anderson ran his team through roughly a two-hour scrimmage and was pleased for the most part with the way his team performed.
"An absolutely gorgeous day," said Anderson. "Obviously, we haven't had weather like this in a while, so to be able to get out and have the sun shining was a blessing for us. We ran more plays than I anticipated we would get. It was a great first scrimmage. There is so much to fix, but we are excited about where the guys are at just in terms of how hard they work, how much fun they are having playing and how this group is coming together. Now, the real work starts. We will go in and dissect it and figure out just how bad we really are. I would say right now we are not very good in any phase, but there was good on both sides."
Overall, Utah State's offense gained 857 yards during the scrimmage (530 passing, 337 rushing) and scored nine touchdowns, while the Aggie defense had 11.0 sacks and 23.0 tackles for loss, to go along with one interception.
