LOGAN, Utah – Utah State had four of its former football players either sign NFL free agent contracts or receive invitations to rookie minicamps following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Calvin Tyler Jr. signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent, while
Logan Bonner was invited to two minicamps – one with the Buffalo Bills and the other with the Indianapolis Colts –
Hunter Reynolds was invited to attend the Tampa Bay Buccaneers minicamp and
Brian Cobbs will attend the Washington Commanders' camp.
Tyler, a 5-foot-8, 210-pound running back, rushed for 2,006 yards on 449 carries during his two seasons at Utah State and ranks 11th all-time in school history in rushing as he is the 11th Aggie to eclipse 2,000 career rushing yards.
The native of Beaumont, Texas, earned second-team all-Mountain West honors in 2022 as he rushed for 1,122 yards (ranks 16th all-time in single-season school history) on 253 carries (ranks eighth all-time for a single season) and seven touchdowns. Tyler started in all 13 games for the Aggies and caught 15 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown.
Tyler, who played in the 2023 Hula Bowl and participated in the 2023 College Gridiron Showcase, also ranks eighth all-time in school history with his 449 career rushes. He had 10 100-yard rushing games as an Aggie.
Bonner started the first four games of 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury, but in 2021, the 6-1, 230-pound quarterback, set five single-season school records. His 42 career touchdown passes are the fifth-most in school history, while his career completion percentage of .603 is the seventh-best.
The native of Rowlett, Texas, participated in both the 2023 Tropical Bowl and College Gridiron Showcase.
In his lone season with the Aggies, Cobbs earned second-team all-Mountain West honors in 2022 after catching 76 passes for 923 yards and five touchdowns. The 6-2, 210-pound wide receiver from Alexandria, Virginia, also participated in the College Gridiron Showcase.
Reynolds was tabbed a ProFootballFocus (PFF) honorable mention All-American and earned honorable mention all-Mountain West honors following the 2022 season with the Aggies as he recorded 93 tackles, seven pass breakups, three interceptions and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.
The 6-foot, 200-pound safety from South Orange, New Jersey, was also a participant in the College Gridiron Showcase.
