Utah State Basketball Signs Javon Jackson to 2023-24 Roster

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle announced the signing of Javon Jackson to the 2023-24 roster.
 
Jackson, a 6-foot-3 guard, joins the Aggies after spending his freshman campaign at Southern Nazarene, where he appeared in 32 games, including 25 starts. Jackson was named the Great American Conference Freshman of the Year, while earning first-team all-conference honors. He led the Crimson Storm in both assists (2.75 apg) and steals (1.3 spg), while he was second on the team in scoring (15.8 ppg). He also averaged 3.4 rebounds per game.
 
The native of Houston, Texas, scored in double figures 26 times during the 2022-23 campaign, including nine 20-plus-point outings with a career-best 25 against Arkansas Tech (Jan. 12). Jackson dished out at least five assists seven times, including a career-high six dimes three times. He collected five-or-more rebounds in 11 games, including a career-best nine boards against Southwestern Oklahoma (Dec. 17), while recording multiple steals 15 times with a career-high four in the game against Arkansas Tech.
 
Jackson prepped at C.E. King High School in Houston, Texas, and spent one year at Impact Basketball Academy following his graduation. He was named TABC all-state and the district Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, averaging 19 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He was a four-time first-team all-district selection and helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back District 22-6A championships.
