LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head volleyball coach Rob Neilson announced the signing of Rachel Reed (Mesa, Arizona) to the 2023 roster on Monday.
 
"We are so happy to have Rachel join our roster," Neilson said. "She is an outstanding player with an incredible work ethic. Her energetic personality and fun-loving nature will be a great addition to our team. She was a late addition to our roster, but we are so grateful that we got the call and were able to provide the collegiate experience she is looking for. The Utah State community will love Rachel."
 
Reed, a 5-foot-5 libero/defensive specialist, prepped at Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona, where she was a two-time all-region Defensive Player of the Year. Reed helped Mountain View win region and make the 6A state playoffs in all three years she was on varsity, including a third-place finish at the 6A state championships as a sophomore.
 
Reed also played beach volleyball for Mountain View, where she earned first-team all-region honors as a junior. She helped lead the team to three region championships, while making two state playoffs, including one appearance in the semifinals. Reed also went to state for pairs as a junior.
 
The incoming freshman has seven years of club volleyball experience, most recently with EVJ. In her club career, Reed played on two region championship teams and was on the AVC Dallas JNQ tournament runner up squad.
 
Utah State volleyball season tickets for the 2023 season go on sale on July 1.
