LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's men's tennis team earned 2023 Division I All-Academic Team honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA, while six Aggies were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, it was announced Monday.
Academics are an integral aspect of the college tennis experience and adds to the unique student-athlete experience found on college campuses across the nation. Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court.
In 2023, a total of 959 Division I men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 162 mern's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

David Cierny,
Javier Ruiz and
Roko Savin, junior
Jack Ninteman and sophomores
Christian Holmes and Sergi Micó Fenollar were tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2023.
Cierny and Savin previously were both named academic all-district by the College Sports Communicators.
Utah State reached the title match of the 2023 Mountain West Championship in 2023, falling to No. 72 Boise State 4-2.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
• Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
• Be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
• Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
• All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
• All varsity letterwinners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
