RJ Eytle-Rock Signs Professional Contract in England

LOGAN, Utah – Former Utah State men's basketball player RJ Eytle-Rock has signed his first professional contract, joining the Sheffield Sharks of the British Basketball League. The Sharks are located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.
 
Eytle-Rock appeared in 65 games in two seasons for the Aggies, making 30 starts. In his USU career, Eytle-Rock totaled 349 points, 106 rebounds and 87 assists, while shooting 41.6 percent (117-of-281) from the field, 34.1 percent (46-of-135) from deep and 81.2 percent (69-of-85) at the free throw line. He scored in double figures 12 times in an Aggie uniform.
 
In 2022-23, Eytle-Rock averaged 3.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game, while shooting 42.9 percent (36-of-84) from the field, 33.3 percent (14-of-42) from behind the arc and 81.5 percent (22-of-22) at the free throw line. In 2021-22, he appeared in 31 games during the year with 30 starts and scored in double figures in nine games, including a season-high 18 points at New Mexico (Jan. 8, 2022). Eytle-Rock shot 41.1 percent (81-of-197) from the floor, 34.4 percent (32-of-93) from behind the 3-point line and 81.0 percent (47-of-58) at the free throw line.
 
Prior to Utah State, Eytle-Rock appeared in 73 games with 64 starts in three years at UMBC. He led the Retrievers in scoring during the 2020-21 season, turning in 14.3 points per game and shooting 47.4 percent (92-of-194) from the floor and 40.0 percent (22-of-55) from behind the arc. He also led UMBC at the charity stripe, attempting (101) and making (80) more free throws than any other member of the team. Eytle-Rock paced UMBC with 51 assists, averaging 2.5 per game, while also averaging close to five rebounds per game (4.9). He was named to the America East all-rookie team as a freshman after appearing in 31 games with 24 starts, recording 5.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
