Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's basketball (3-14, 0-6 MW) fell to Nevada (9-9, 3-2 MW) Wednesday evening inside of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, suffering an 89-44 loss.

All 12 Aggies who played got into the scoring column in this one, led by an eight-point effort in 19 minutes of action from junior guard Skye Miller

Both teams struggled to find any offensive rhythm early, combining to make just two of the game's first 15 shots. 13 first-half turnovers plagued the Aggies, as Nevada closed the second quarter on an 11-4 run to break things open and take a 30-16 advantage into the locker room.

The Aggies saved their two highest-scoring quarters of the night for the second half, scoring 13 and 15 points in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, but were unable to keep pace with a Nevada squad that shot a scorching 63.3 percent (19-of-30) from the floor during that span.

Utah State finished the contest shooting 34.1 percent (15-of-44) from the floor, 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from 3-point range and 80.0 percent (12-of-15) at the charity stripe. Nevada shot 49.2 percent (32-of-65) from the field, including 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from deep and 88.2 percent (15-of-17) from the free throw line.

The Wolf Pack (9-9, 3-2 MW) were paced by Claire Jacobs, who went for a team-high 18 points. Lexie Givens finished with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double for the visitors.
