Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's basketball (3-15, 0-7 MW) fell to Boise State (13-6, 4-2 MW) Saturday afternoon, losing 76-41 at ExtraMile Arena.

Utah State's afternoon was highlighted by strong individual performances from the frontcourt duo of freshman forward Gracie Johnson and junior forward Bridget Mullings. Johnson tied the program's all-time single-game block record with eight rejections, while Mullings went for eight points and a season-high-tying 10 rebounds.

Johnson is one of just the five players in program history to record eight blocks in a game, and is the first to do so since Deja Mason on Feb. 3, 2016. She also went for four points and four rebounds in the contest.

The Aggie defense got off to an outstanding start, holding Boise State to just one make in its first 16 shots of the contest, but an 8-2 run to close out the quarter gave the hosts a 13-9 advantage at the break. The Broncos scored the first 26 points of the second quarter to break things open, as they led 41-15 at halftime.

Utah State put together its two highest-scoring quarters of the outing in the second half, including out-scoring the Broncos 16-15 in the fourth, but were unable to overcome the deficit.

In the scoring column, the Aggies were led by junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs, who finished with 17 points to go along with six boards, an assist and a steal.

Utah State finished the contest shooting 26.4 percent (14-of-53) from the floor, 10.0 percent (2-of-20) from 3-point range and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) at the charity stripe. Boise State shot 33.8 percent (25-of-74) from the field, including 36.7 percent (11-of-30) from deep and 75.0 percent (15-of-20) from the free throw line.

The Broncos were paced by Dani Baynes, who finished with 16 points.
