Scouting the Aztecs
• San Diego State is 12-8 this season and is off to a 3-4 start to league play with wins over Colorado State, Fresno State and San José State.
• Senior forward Adryana Quezada, who played at Utah State in 2021-22, leads the team in both scoring and rebounds this year with 14.7 points and 6.6 boards per game. Senior forward Kim Villalobos is the team's top facilitator with 2.6 assists per contest.

Series History
• Utah State and San Diego State have met up 20 times in a series dating back to 1980.
• San Diego State leads the all-time series 7-13, including a 6-4 record in Logan, and the Aztecs have won each of the past four meetings.
• Last year, the Aztecs won the lone season matchup, an 89-55 victory in Logan.
Last Time Out
• Utah State fell on the road Saturday afternoon, suffering a 76-41 loss to Boise State.
• The Aggies' afternoon was highlighted by strong individual performances from the frontcourt duo of freshman forward Gracie Johnson and junior forward Bridget Mullings. Johnson tied the program's all-time single-game block record with eight rejections, while Mullings went for eight points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
• The Aggie defense held Boise State to just one make in its first 16 shots, but 26-0 run by the Broncos in the second quarter broke things open.
• Junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs was USU's top scorer with 17 points.
Block Party
• In Utah State's contest at Boise State last week, freshman forward Gracie Johnson went off for eight blocks to tie the program's all-time single-game record. She's just the fifth player in program history to get eight rejections in a contest, and the first since Deja Mason did so in 2016. It's also tied for eighth in Mountain West history and is the second-most ever by a MW freshman.
• Only five players in NCAA Division I have recorded more blocks in a game this season.
• This was Johnson's second big defensive outing this season, after recording five blocks against UNLV on Jan. 1.
Block Party- Pt. II
As a team against Boise State, the Aggies recorded 13 blocks, just one rejection shy of a program record and tied for the third-best mark in team history.
Chey High
• USU junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs has emerged as one of the league's top offensive threats this season, as the Canisius transfer ranks third in the MW with 15.4 points per game.
• Her 15.4 points per contest rank just outside of the top-10 in program history.
• The 5-foot-5 junior is USU's top scorer, but also leads the team in rebounds (4.1), assists (2.2) and steals (1.7) per outing.
Consistent Buckets
• Cheyenne Stubbs has led Utah State in scoring in 14 of 18 games this season. She's the first Aggie player to post so many team-leading performances since Shannon Dufficy had 18 in 2018-19.
• She has scored in double-figures in 14 of 18 games this year, while scoring 20-plus points on four occasions.
Freebies
Averaging 17.9 shots from the charity stripe per game, the Aggies lead the Mountain West in free throw attempts per game. USU also ranks second in made free throws per game with 12.4.
Perimeter Protection
One of the strengths of the Aggie defense this year has been on the perimeter, where USU is holding opponents to just 32.1 percent (143-of-446). This mark is on track to be the best by a Utah State team since the 2006-07 season (.278).
30-Point Club
• Cheyenne Stubbs went off in Utah State's game at UNLV on Dec. 30, finishing with a career-high 30 points in the contest on 7-of-15 shooting (.467) from the floor, 5-of-9 shooting (.556) from 3-point range and 11-of-14 shooting (.786) from the charity stripe.
• She is just the 19th player in USU program history to score 30 or more points in a game, and is the first to do so since Adryana Quezada on Jan. 9, 2022.
• She is also just the 13th player in program history to make five 3-pointers in a game.
In the Paint
• Utah State has out-scored or tied 10 of its 18 opponents this year in the paint, including in each of the team's wins. It averages 27.2 points down low per contest.
• The Aggies scored a season-high 44 points in the paint in the season opener at CSUN.
