LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's basketball was ranked No. 17 in both the AP and Coaches Polls on Monday. Utah State is the highest-ranked Mountain West team in the AP Poll as New Mexico was ranked 19th.
This is the fourth-straight week the Aggies have been ranked in both polls. USU was previously ranked No. 18 (Jan. 22), No. 16 (Jan. 15) and No. 20 (Jan. 8) in the AP Poll, while it was No. 20 (Jan. 22), No. 17 (Jan. 15) and No. 23 (Jan. 8) in the Coaches Poll.
Utah State's 18-2 start to the season is tied for the fourth-best in school history behind the 2008-09 (25-2), the 2010-11 (22-2) and the 2003-04 (20-2) teams, and tied with the 2000-01 (18-2) and the 1959-60 (18-2) teams. USU's 6-1 start to Mountain West play is its second-best in its 11 years in the league, trailing only the 2020-21 team that started MW play with a 9-0 record.
Overall, it is the 10th time in school history that Utah State has been nationally ranked. USU's highest-ever ranking was in 1960 when it was No. 7 in the nation.
The Aggies, who are coming off a 90-84 overtime victory at Boise State, are 69-21 (.767) all-time as an AP ranked team.
Utah State ranks in the top 50 in the nation in several categories, including defensive 3-point field goal percentage (.278, 7th), field goal percentage (.499, 9th), assists per game (17.45, 18th), scoring margin (+13.75, 19th), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.52, 24th), rebounding margin (+6.80, 25th) and scoring offense (82.55, 25th).

Darius Brown II ranks third in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.38) and seventh in assists per game (7.00). Junior wing
Great Osobor ranks 21st in rebounds per game (9.70), 27th in field goal percentage (.594) and 30th in defensive rebounds per game (6.75).
The Aggies return home on Tuesday, Jan. 30, to host San Jose State at 7 p.m. inside of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The game will be televised on KMYU and streamed on the Mountain West Network.
