LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis will split its squad this weekend to compete in two separate tournaments: the Mountain West Conference Fall Individuals in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Idaho State Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho. The MWC Individuals will take place from Wednesday, Oct. 2, to Saturday, Oct. 5, while the Idaho State Invitational runs from Wednesday, Oct. 2, to Friday, Oct. 4.

Last weekend, Utah State had a strong showing at both the 67th Annual Intercollegiate Championships and the Bedford Cup. At the 67^th Annual Intercollegiate Championships, senior Sergi Micó Fenollar led the Aggies by capturing the singles title as the third seed. Competing against top teams such as USC, San Diego State, and Baylor, Micó Fenollar advanced through the singles draw, securing a commanding 6-1, 6-4 victory in the final over top-seeded Neo Niedner from San Diego. On day one, seniors David Martirosian and Micó Fenollar advanced with wins in the round of 32, while sophomore Mohammad Alkotop finished the day 1-1. On day two, Micó Fenollar cruised to a straight-sets victory in the singles round of 16 (6-3, 6-3). Freshman Roman Venger and Alkotop also secured wins in the singles round of 32. In doubles action, the pair of Micó Fenollar and Venger posted a win in the round of 16 to advance. On day three, Micó Fenollar dominated the singles quarterfinals, winning 6-0, 6-2, before securing a semifinal victory later in the day (7-5, 6-3). In doubles, Micó Fenollar and Venger won in their quarterfinal match, which was decided by a tie-break (7-6(4)). On the final day, Micó Fenollar clinched the singles title with a commanding straight-set win over top-seeded Neo Niedner of USD (6-1, 6-4). In doubles play, Micó Fenollar and Venger fell in their quarterfinal match. At Bedford Cup, the Aggies did well and were highlighted by freshman Eliot Nobel, who posted a 2-1 record in singles play and a 2-1 record in doubles competition with sophomore teammate Keanu Rigby. Rigby highlighted the Aggies' efforts during the first day of the tournament with a three-set victory in the East bracket's round of 16. On day two, freshmen Dmitri Goubin and Nobel secured singles wins, with Goubin claiming a three-set victory and Nobel winning in straight sets. Rigby, however, fell in his singles quarterfinals match. On the final day, Utah State recorded two more wins, one in singles and one in doubles. Nobel earned a hard-fought singles victory in three sets, while Rigby and Nobel teamed up to win their doubles match 6-4.
