Game Recap: Women's Soccer |
LOGAN, Utah – Utah State soccer (14-1-3, 5-1-2 MW) earned its second-straight dominant shutout victory Sunday afternoon at Chuck & Gloria Bell Field, picking up a 4-0 win over Air Force to earn three more points in league play.

The Aggies scored twice in each half, beginning with a 14th minute goal from senior forward Bizzy Arevalo, who followed passes from senior midfielder Rine Yonaha and junior forward Kaylie Chambers with a shot from the top of the 18-yard box into the top left corner of the net. In the 21st minute, senior defender Addy Weichers sent a pass 60 yards through the air to the feet of junior forward Tess Werts, who beat a defender to deliver a right-footer into the goal to make it 2-0.

Arevalo earned her second-straight brace in the 55th minute with her second goal of the contest, receiving a pass down the endline from Werts at the far post to tap in another and extend the lead. The final goal of the afternoon came in the 58th minute, when a penalty just outside of the box set up a free kick for Yonaha, who arched a shot around a wall of defenders and into the top left corner of the frame.

HEAD COACH MANNY MARTINS
"It's refreshing when you can come out and put on a complete performance. We didn't allow them a shot in the first half. They had a few in the second half, but altogether, we kept them from scoring. We scored four goals, we played 26 players, and we were able to sustain the same level even with all those changes. A game where you can get a result like this and have some of our younger players gain some valuable experience, you couldn't ask for better."
