LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's men's cross country team moved up in week 4 of the NCAA DI Cross Country Regional Rankings, which were released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Aggie men jumped one spot from fifth to fourth, while the women fell one spot from sixth to seventh.

The top three spots in the men's Mountain Region held steady with BYU remaining at No. 1. New Mexico at No. 2, and Northern Arizona at No. 3. Utah State jumped up to No. 4, their highest regional ranking since 2021, and Wyoming rose two spots to No. 5. In the women's rankings, BYU overtook Northern Arizona for the No. 1 spot, while Utah at No. 3, New Mexico at No. 4, and Utah Valley at No. 5 all retained their rankings.

USU's men's team is coming off a strong performance in the 2024 Wisconsin Pre-Nationals, where they bested eight nationally-ranked opponents en route to an 11th-place finish. Graduate Camren Todd was USU's top finisher in the men's 8K A race with a time of 23:10.1, good for 17th place. Among Mountain Region opponents, the Aggies defeated No. 10 Air Force by 358 points, No. 6 Colorado by 11 points and edged out No. 5 Wyoming in a tiebreaker.

The Aggie women placed seventh in the 6K race at the Princeton Fall Classic with 185 points, led by senior Emma Thornley's 16th-place time of 20:09.5. USU finished narrowly behind No. 6 Colorado State by eight points.

Utah State returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 25, when the Aggies travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the Utah Open, their final meet of the regular season. The women will begin racing at 1 p.m. and the men will follow at 1:45 p.m. (MT).
