LOGAN, Utah – After helping Utah State soccer to a dominant 2-0 week with a 6-0 win over Colorado College and a 4-0 win over Air Force, senior forward
Bizzy Arevalo was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.
Arevalo, a native of Logan, Utah, recorded the first two braces of her career, scoring two goals in each match. Against the Tigers, she had two goals and took three shots, all three of which were on frame. She then took two shots against Air Force, both of which found the back of the net. She did all of this while starting both matches but playing just a total of 80 minutes.
This is the first MW weekly honor of Arevalo's career. She is the first Aggie to earn MW offensive player of the week accolades this season, though five USU players have previously been named the league's defensive player of the week this season.
Arevalo and the Aggies (14-1-3, 5-1-2 MW) head out for their final road trip of Mountain West play this week, traveling to face UNLV on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. (MT), then play at Nevada on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. (MT).
