RENO, Nevada – Utah State soccer (15-1-4, 6-1-3 MW) earned a point on the road in its regular season road finale Sunday afternoon with a 2-2 draw against Nevada at Mackay Stadium.
The Aggies dominated the possession in the first half with 12 shots to just one for Wolf Pack, but none of the team's looks found the net as the match went to the halftime break scoreless. The Aggies struck quickly after the half in the 47th minute when junior midfielder
Kaylie Chambers in transition slid a pass from near the endline to graduate defender
Kylie Olsen, who tapped it into the back of the net to make the game 1-0. The Wolf Pack evened things up 15 minutes later when several deflections off of a Nevada corner kick resulted in a goal for the hosts.
In the 79th minute, USU pulled ahead once again on the foot of sophomore forward
Kate Christian, who beat a defender to bury a shot in the bottom left corner of the net from 17 yards out. The lead was short-lived, though, as the Wolf Pack pulled back to even in the 88th minute with a transition goal to earn the draw.
